The story of Little Orcas doesn't begin with a grand business plan. It starts with a 17-year-old polytechnic student me looking for a part-time job. I chanced upon an opportunity to be a swimming coach and, without a second thought, dived right in.

What I discovered poolside was completely unexpected. I didn't just find a job; I found a passion. There's a profound satisfaction that comes from seeing a child's face light up as they have fun in the water, a joy that comes from watching them learn and grow confident with every splash.

This part-time job became a powerful force in my own life. It empowered me to pay for my university fees and take a gap year to travel, relieving the financial burden on my parents. It taught me that work could be more than just a job—it could be a vehicle for your dreams.

When I founded Little Orcas, I knew this very idea had to be at its core. My vision was clear:

This vision is twofold.

First, it’s for our swimmers. We empower children by giving them a safe and joyful space to achieve their goals. Whether it's overcoming a deep-seated fear of the water or mastering a new stroke, each small victory is a transformative experience that builds confidence for life.

Second, it’s for our team. The true purpose of Little Orcas is to empower our coaches, just as this profession empowered me. We believe in fair employment and treating people right. Our coaches are compensated well, giving them the freedom and support to pursue their own dreams outside the pool. Whether swim coaching is a stepping stone or a lifelong career, we are here to support their journey.
